Review: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation | Is it worth the hype?

Hello beauties,

I have heard some incredible reviews about the Estee Lauder Double Wear 'Stay in Place' liquid foundation so I decided to head into the shops and ask for a sample of the foundation to let you all know my thoughts. Have you tried this foundation? Is it a holy-grail for you?

I love trying new foundations, but I always find it hard to detach myself from my MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation. However, after applying this for the first time on Wednesday I instantly fell in love with the finish and look of this foundation.

This is a long-lasting foundation - claiming to last for up to 15 hours (this had me hooked from the moment I read this!) and is a very full coverage buildable foundation, the biggest selling point for me was that you literally need the smallest pump ever to do a full face and it leaves your skin looking flawless - it's like your skin but better!

I decided to try out the claim of '15 hour staying power' on Wednesday which was the hottest day of the year so far and our longest day being the Summer Solstice as the foundation advises it can last through heat and humidity and non-stop activity and I can vouch this foundation definitely has an insane lasting power, by far the best long-lasting foundation I've tried, working in an air-conditioning building usually by lunch time my foundation starts to wear off - even with a primer and setting spray, however this did not need any extra products it lasted by itself!

So, the foundation last's a very long time on your skin, however, how does it feel on your skin? The name of this foundation 'double wear' did use to put me off as I thought it would feel and look heavy on my skin but I was completely wrong! I was so surprised by the formula and finish of this foundation, it's a light weight foundation and it doesn't feel like I've got much on my skin - which I'm sure you can admit, is the best feeling ever - and even more of a bonus when the product doesn't rub off on your partners clothes!

I applied this foundation with my Nanshy Foundation Brush (link) and it blends effortlessly, lasting all day without the need to touch up throughout the day. This foundation is more expensive than your 'average' foundation as this product is £32.50 but after using this for the last two days, I have been so happy with how my make-up looks that I will most definitely purchase the full size, it has excellent, flawless coverage which last's all day and you only need the smallest amount of product to do your make-up with so the product will genuinely last a long time. I can see this quickly overtaking my love for my MAC foundation (that's definetly a thumbs up from me - seeing as I've used my MAC foundation for nearly 3 years now!)

Will you go out and ask for a sample of this?

Do you already own it, let me know do you love it or hate it?
