Guide: Hair Care Routine & Product Reviews

Have you got that Winter feeling? Hair feeling dull & in need of a pick me up?

Well girrrrrl, I've got you covered!
We all love our hair, let's be honest, you can do so much with it and it can complete your overall look in seconds. My hair is my pride and joy - I'm so fussy with it and yes, I've got my favourite hairdresser which I've had for over 4/5 years and is the only person I trust with my hair. I'm thinking of booking in the salon later this month or next to get a full head of blonde highlights (this is what I get every time I go - 2/3 times a year!) and would like to do a post about it. Maybe before/after photo's and allow you to follow along with me for a pamper day. These days are the best they can make every girl feel like a princess.

I've tried so many different shampoo's and conditioners and masks over the years that promise you miracles for your hair... some do meet those expectations but some, well... let's say I never repurchased! However, I've got my own favourites, as you all do and thought I would post about them on my little space of the internet. I'd love to know what your fave products are too!!!

John Frieda Go Blonder Shampoo & Conditioner

I picked this shampoo and conditioner duo up from ASDA a few months ago, it was on a deal of 3 products for £10, so I also grabbed their Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Deep Conditioner. This product does work, gradually lightening your hair colour. It makes my hair feel smooth and clean, the product lathers up well and you don't need to use loads of product either. I also like the smell of this Shampoo and Conditioner, I often find some high street brands do not smell nice, or are too over
powering with fruit sent, this one smells like I've just come out of the salon. A win-win situation, product does what it states on the tube and all for a reasonable price. I normally wash my hair twice a week - my hair does not tend to get that 'greasy look' quickly and I do think it's down to my hair care routine.  Individual item (shampoo/conditioner) retails for £9.99 in Boots

Bed Head TIGI Shampoo & Conditioner - Level 2

I discovered this brand from my grandparents - my Granddad and Nan are to thank for this amazing find! It was part of my Christmas present a few years ago - and ever since then I've been hooked. This is another brand that is quite readily available I normally purchase mine from TK Maxx or a local salon and also does what it states on the bottle! In fact, the whole range meets my expectations and I've tried quite a range of their products as the different levels are for different hair types/styles. The one in this post is the recovery stage which helps to hydrate your hair again, protects from colour fading and is suitable for damaged hair (heat styling/over dyed hair) It really is a miracle in a bottle, like I said there is a lot of competition out there for brands, offering similar products all retailing at different prices... what do we look for, sometimes cheaper does not always mean it will be good and sometimes expensive does not mean that either. But I promise you will not be disappointed by this brand. Retails for £29.95 online and in salons.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

This I like to call, my secret hair tool. I had never seen nor heard about this product until I was gifted the M&S Ultimate Beauty Advent Calendar (check my older posts to see my review) I have used this quite a few times and each time I do, my hair thanks me for it. I try to add this to my routine roughly once a week to give my hair a good, thorough cleanse. I will certainly be repurchasing this product when I run out and cannot wait to discover more hidden gems within this brand. Have you tried anything from Philip Kingsley's range? Do let me know your thoughts. Full size product on their website retails for £30.

So, last but not least I couldn't finish off this blog without telling you my favourite hair treatment mask which is Macadamia Hair Mask this product is a deep repair masque for dry and damaged hair, again I meet this criteria having styled my hair with heat tools (my fave tool is my GHD hair straighteners) using hair dryers and also dying my hair. I use this when I'm having a pamper evening - you know the kind, candle lit bath your favourite songs playing, relaxing with a face and hair mask and giving yourself some TLC. I do enjoy using this treatment mask and the ingredients included such as argon oil and aloe which rebuilds your damaged locks! This retails at £28.95 online and is worth every penny as the product does the trick and lasts a very long time.

I thought I'd end the post showing you my other favourite hair style - normally its straightened as I find it looks elegant and is not time consuming and I'm ready to walk out the door for work, however I also enjoy curling my hair! This also gives you an insight to the length of my hair. I hope you enjoyed this post, and thank you for joining in. Speak to you all soon, Em x
