Hi beauties, I'm so excited to be writing this post today as I'll be sharing with you what my New Year's resolutions for 2019 are going to be. I wanted to start out by saying, there certainly is no right time to set yourself a goal, or something new to achieve it's better to just jump right in. However, a new year is a time where people can let go of what has previously happened and have a fresh new start so for that reason I wanted to share mine.
Overall, 2018 had both positive and negative impacts on my life, firstly the biggest challenge was in January it was a month of extremely mixed emotions I lost one of the dearest and closest person to me, my Nanny who has influenced my life massively and during the time when my Nan was poorly I applied for a new job at work. I count my blessings everyday I did go just for it, as I was offered the job before my Nan passed and I was able to share my great news with her, she also passed me down her best Parker pen as a well done present. It was a tough time, but also a chance for me to really make the go of something in my life - and looking back on this year - I certainly have done my Nan proud. I celebrated my 21st birthday this year *best birthday to date may I add* - I went on some lovely holidays too. I also had a health scare, I discovered a breast lump which I blogged about part 1(here) and part 2 (here) where I managed to use my social media platforms to RAISE AWARENESS and I was so touched by the response I had by sharing my story. This next one I am so bloody proud of myself for... I saved and brought my new car, an Audi and it's a beauty. I also reached promotions in my beauty venture, I celebrated Christmas with my family from Thailand and Vietnam, and spent some quality time with all of my loved ones this year and lastly... I discovered myself again and I truly very happy and I am so bloody greatful for everything in my life.
I am going to get back to the gym - I do say this one every year and did OKISH last year, but I'm going to invest in myself this year so a healthy body and a healthy mind is top priority. If I start slacking... please remind me that I set this as a goal (minimum 3x a week!)
I will be saving so hard this year too (keep reading for some of my saving tips!) and I'll be doing a lot of exploring and travelling as there is so much more of this world I want to see. I absoutley love going on holiday and seeing new places so I'm going to create a list of countries I want to go too and start ticking them off my list. I personally find having something visual will help you to stick to your goals - so if you're feeling creative go and buy a cork board and print of some pictures of your goals and places to visit and see how you do.
I am also going to make a commitment to you, reading this post right now. I will be uploading one blog post every week (I'm thinking Thursday or Sunday as upload day?!) and that will vary between make-up, beauty related posts, to skincare posts, maybe even throw some fashion posts in too and some lifestyle follow-me blog posts. I started my blog back in January 2017 as I was passionate about having a space to call my own and share my tips and tricks and connect with other like-minded people, and I kind of lost that in 2018 so I'm determined to get my blog going again and staying consistent.
I think that's probably enough for now... what are your resolutions going to be if you set them for yourself? I'd like to hear them in the comments - so please reply below.
Money saving tip ideas for 2019.... Want to join in with me?!
The 1p Saving Challenge
(I found this one by searching on Google)
Every day of the year you save a penny for the day of the year so day 1 you would save 1p and day 365 you'd save £3.65 - you with me?! So, when you open your saving jar you will end up having saved £667.95 in 365 days
I like this one, as without even thinking about saving, as I know some people to struggle, you wouldn't even notice parting with that small change. I'm already thinking what to treat myself when I finish at the end of 2019. What would you put the money towards?
Check your funds daily - and save anything extra
If you have online banking already, you'll know how helpful it is to keeping you up to date with your finances. So a little tip I'm going to do, is checking the balance daily and say you have £52.60 - save the £2.60 so you round it to the nearest £5/£10 (obviously do which you can afford to) but I thought this would be something again, quite small to do but in long-term you could end up saving quite a lot!
I hope you've enjoyed reading this post about my plans/resolutions for the new year, as I'm posting this on New Year's Eve I hope you all have a fantastic time, whatever you get up too... see the new year in and start January 1st living your best life because ultimately... we deserve it. See you for my next post in 2019, which will be a follow-me blog on mine and my boyfriends recent trip to Amsterdam, you all loved the last one so I'm going to share it again.
Love Em oxo
