Good evening beauties. Today I wanted to do a different kind of post than my usual beauty review and speak to you all about how I have learnt to find myself and how saying 'yes' to more opportunities this year has had a life changing impact for me. We are coming up to Christmas (eek! and yes, I do still have shopping to do) and it won't be long until we will be partying and celebrating bringing in the new year. A new year, new beginnings!
I remember last Christmas talking to my eldest brother Luke saying how I didn't want to just sit and read blogs anymore I actually want to start my own. Luke was so excited for me as for the past 4 years (possibly even longer!) I have always watched Youtubers and Bloggers and have been a beauty obsessive for ages that little did I know my family and partner have actually been waiting for me to kick the anxiety thoughts of "what will people think" away and just say yes and go for it for ages!! I remember at the start of January designing and pre-planning blog posts the only people I thought would read them would be my family, how wrong was I! Instantly my blog was being shared globally and I had interest from all around the world. From saying yes to this opportunity I have received free products to try and review, I have worked with a successful girls-only group called 'Girlsmouth' with over 100,000 members on Facebook alongside the founder Chloe Todd (who has done a phenomenal job creating this platform for girls everywhere to ask for advice!) creating blog post content and have also worked alongside many companies and had some incredible promotion opportunities.
I look back now and think, what was I worrying about! If I had let all those potential comments/remarks I wouldn't be sat here now typing a blog post with to over 30,000 following and receiving lovely emails on a daily basis. I am so happy I said yes, I'm incredible thankful for all of the support I've had with my blog and the opportunities it's given me and I cannot wait to see where 2018 takes my blog... possibly a Youtube channel?
Last week I had some fantastic news in my career - I have been successful in the recent interview I had so at the beginning of January I will be starting my new JOB!! and I am so excited - I cannot wait to relax over the Christmas period and go into a new and challenging role in the new year. I'm so excited for 2018!! I will make it my best year yet.
So now you know my reasons of why saying yes can be a good thing for yourself, we can start learning how to find the real you. This can be tricky to explain, so here goes.
You need to understand how to love yourself and understand exactly what you want in life to truly be happy. This year I have become a bit more selfish and putting myself first so that I can be in control of my happiness and in return, this has repaid me well. I know that I need to be 100% happy with the decisions I make. I have learnt that when you support others, they will support your ventures too! You always need to look at who surrounds you - this year I followed quite a famous motto of "at this stage in my life if it doesn't 1. make me happy 2. make me better 3. make me better I don't make time for it" and it helped me realise and reflect on those who were around me, whether they were having a positive or negative impact for me, when I worked out that I wanted to only be surrounded by positivity I made the most incredible friendships and have been the happiest I've ever been. Also remind yourself, that it's okay to make mistakes and to not have everything planned out yet... the best is always get too come. I feel posts like this always allow me to connect with my mind and say what I really feel. Be sure to take time out, away from your job, friendships, relationships to have some YOU time and to ensure you're happy.

If you haven't already, sit back and reflect on how your year has gone... have you done everything you set out to do? Have you focused on your self-worth and happiness? Have you put yourself first? If you're not overly happy with what you've achieved then set yourself goals for the new year and make it YOUR YEAR! Start saying yes to more opportunities and you never know, it may be they best decision you've made yet. I'd love to hear in the comments the best thing that's happened to you this year!
Remember, be happy and be you! Everyone else is taken already.
I hope you've enjoyed reading.
Here's to an even better 2 0 1 8 !
