I recently had to send my GHD hair straighteners back which was very upsetting as you can imagine they are so expensive and I was not impressed that they went wrong. It was quite odd as I'd had these hair straighteners for over a year with no problems, and my pair before I had for roughly 5 years with again no problems, until they hit the end of their sell by date and finally packed up - and to date, I've used these hair straighteners for well over 6 years and I have never found any other styling tool I prefer. So you may be thinking? Yes Em, we've got it.. they are your favourite hair styling tools (and probably yours too!) but what is the reason for the review?
Well, I was actually shocked for words with the service my Mum and I received after my Mum finally gave in at me saying 'I don't know what's wrong they just won't heat up!!' and made a phone call to the service desk and within minutes had arranged to send them off free of charge with the advice that they would take a look at the straighteners, and should the damage come back as faulty for the tool, they would replace them. Within a day we had an email and text message to confirm I had a new pair being delivered and dispatched!
I could not believe how quickly they responded and from the second we first had contact to the moment they were delivered I could not fault the service one bit, now you may or may not know that I am a Quality Specialist for a Housing Association so I do think and rate companies about their level of customer service on a daily basis! (It's just a habit now, sorry!) and in this day and age we are much more likely to complain than compliment, so here's one happy customer for GHD. This did make me think about how many times in our lives do things break, or go wrong and we just think its 'too much hassle' to sort out and either leave it, or repurchase the same item again and I'll put my hands up I was literally just waiting for pay day and then I was going to buy them again - but why?! all because I didn't want to do the research; so tighten up folks if there is something similar which has stopped working or broke, check your warranty and guarantee make a few phone calls and sort it out! Overall, I honestly could not fault their service and professionalism, and on top of that they do an awesome pair of hair straighteners which I'll continue to buy.
