I had a half day today so finished at half 12, and managed to enjoy the sunshine, I popped into MAC and spent some time with one of their make-up artists learning more about the best way to style my brows and to discover new products.. I'll talk more about that in a moment.
I wanted to do another make-up tutorial for you all, and help out some of the girls who have private messaged me learn how to contour and highlight. Let's get started!
PRODUCTS & APPLICATION -
Conceal, Highlight & Contour - NYX contour palette and collection 2000 concealer (fair 1) also trialled a sample from Younique in velour, and the Younique cream highlighter : If you are not sure how to contour and highlight, take a look at my two photo's below, and I'll talk you through step-by-step. Firstly, I'll focus on applying my contour with a small angled brush to ensure I'm concise I apply contour in a E/3 shape - I apply it either side of my temples, along my jaw line, the side of my nose and to my cheekbones. For highlighting, I start by applying my concealer in the lightest shade as a triangle underneath my eyes, down the centre of my nose and on my chin. I then blend it all in with a fluffy concealer brush and then, all finished!
Brows - Mac Brow Duo - Do they look like a make-up artist has perfected them? Yes they do, when I was shopping today, I asked the mac make-up artist to try out their brow powder duo, I loved the finish look, she used an angled eyeshadow/brow brush and applied the product lightly, then going in with a spoolie brush to comb all the hairs down and in the same direction (TIP : when you brush the hairs up and your brows have the desired amount of product in, you can also trim or cut them to give a square and more defined shape) I then went in with concealer, on a thin brush and applied a thin layer of concealer above and below my brows for definition, then going in with the colour virgin to add shimmer/highlight to accentuate the brow bone. When I got home, I used my pixi brow tamer to hold my brows in place - I quite like the finished look, and they do feel lighter with a powder rather than a gel. (TIP : you don't need to spend money on a brow gel, a drugstore alternative is a clear mascara, this will do the same job at locking your brows and stray hairs in place all day & night)
Eyes - Naked & Naked 2 Palettes from Urban Decay with MAC in extreme 3D lash mascara : I used a mixture of colours from both palettes to create the above eye look. I used virgin in the inner corners of my eyes, which is a white champagne colour that makes your eyes appear wider and followed by applying a mixture of sin and sidecar on the lid, and applied the blackout shade from naked 2 to the outer corner to add definition. I also applied two coats of my favourite and must have mac mascara.
Lips - Nude lip-liner from NYX in the shade nude beige : This adds definition to my lips and makes them look fuller - I do like nude colours, and recently have gone out of my comfort zone by wearing Ruby Woo by Mac (which is a bright red colour) - I think red/glam at night & nude/girly in the day!
Top palette - Orignial Naked Palette
Bottom palette - Naked 2 Palette
