Here is my every day make-up tutorial, may I add I do have the occasional day where I sit back and relax hair tyed up tracksuit on and not a care in the world about my make-up free face! I love these days as there perfect for letting your skin breathe - a good time to do a skin cleanse!
So, most of the products featured here you may recognise from my most popular post to date (Best of Beauty 2016) well... of course they would be in here, they are my favourites after all.
Firstly I apply my primer which I've recently been trying out from my Beauty Advent Calendar, a primer is a MUST to ensure your make-up stays on all day and keeps it looking flawless. Apply evenly - only a minimal amount of product is needed. This mositurizer preps your skin for make-up application, and has a long lasting stay power. I did not touch my make-up once today and I work in an office with air conditioning.
(think this proves it's a gooden PLUS I went to the gym after work for an hour and a half so this lasted from 7:30-5:30 looking fab.. then after I was a hot mess!)
I apply my Mac Studio Fix Foundation onto my skin I use 2-3 pumps of the foundation and blend, blend, blend, with my kabuki brush which is by Nanshy, this brush has synthetic hairs and distrubtes the product evenly.
I then apply my concelear with my Real Techniques brush from the eye-kit (perfect for concelear as it gets into the creases - places where a larger brush would not be able to blend!) I put this in a 'V' shape underneath the eye to cover any dark circles or discolouration and then apply a thin line down my nose which allows you to highlight (prep step for contour) and also apply to any blemshes - normally my break out area is my chin :( Don't forget to pop some concealear in a 'V' shape again on your forehead where the light naturally hits - this brings your skin to life again and helps give a flawless finish.
Make up with only foundation & concelear |
Then it's time to C O N T O U R .... I'm still trialling the best method with this one!
I apply my NYX contour kit around the perimiter of my face - cheekbones, nose, jaw line and forehead - this gives your face a 'slimmer' and more chizzled look. And don't forget, a sun-kissed glow.
I use the pointer foundation brush from Real Techniques to put the product on then followed by my angled blending brush to blend. Angled brushes are perfect to get into your cheekbones and are easy to use!
Applying & Contouring |
Once my contour is blended I'll pop on some highlight (Featured in above photo) and move onto eyeshadow application, YES... prime before you apply anything to your eyes! I used the colours busted & black out to create this look. Mixing the two together give me a smokey eye look, using my trusty 217 MAC blending brush. These shadows are very pigmented so you don't need to use too much. I have bright blue eyes and feel darker colours really make my eye's pop. Busted is a dark brown shadow with glitter - shimmer shade and blackout is a matte black eyeshadow - which I apply in the outter crease to add more definition to the eye look.
BROWS & EYELASHES SISTER!!!!
I apply a small amound of my NYX eyebrow gel to my brows using my angled brush again from.. you guessed it, Real Techniques. I'm such a fan of their brushes as they are great value for money and SO readily avaliable!
So... the finished make-up look?
I love it - so simple to create.
Post a photo of your every day piccys in the comments.
